A magnitude-5.0 earthquake occurred in East Sepik Province at around 06:06 PGT April 18. The epicenter was about 53 km (33 miles) east-southeast of Ambunti, Papua New Guinea. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 78 km (48 miles), and weak-to-light shaking was probably felt in parts of northern Papua New Guinea.
