Authorities have closed the southbound lanes of Interstate 295 (I-295) in Yarmouth, Maine, April 18 while investigating the shooting of three motorists that occurred on the route earlier in the day. The Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) reported as of around 15:35 that the southbound lanes of I-295 in Yarmouth "may remain closed for several more hours" due to the investigation. MaineDOT further advised motorists to avoid the affected area and alternatively use the Maine Turnpike.
