The Jerusalem Open House for Pride and Tolerance will host its annual pride parade in Jerusalem on June 1 in support of LGBTQ rights. Participants will first assemble at Liberty Bell Park starting at 15:00 before marching to Independence Park beginning at 17:30. The march route will follow King David Street to Plumer Square, subsequently proceeding along Keren HaYesod, King George, Hillel, and Menashe Ben-Israel streets. The event could draw several thousand participants.
Heightened security and traffic disruptions are likely in the affected area through late June 1. Authorities could close off roads or cordon off areas near gathering points and along the march route. The anti-LGBTQ far-right Lehava organization has called for a counter-protest to be held at the entrance of Liberty Bell Park from 15:30 June 1. Clashes cannot be ruled out.
