At least 14 people are reportedly dead due to an explosion at a mosque in Fayzabad, Badakhshan Province, June 8. Over 10 others are injured; the casualty count includes Taliban officials and is likely to rise in the coming hours. The blast reportedly took place around 10:50 during the funeral prayers of deputy governor Maulvi Nisar Ahmad Ahmadi, who died in a targeted vehicle bombing June 6 claimed by the Islamic State (IS).
