Mauritania's electric utility provider Societe Mauritanienne d'Electricite (SOMELEC) has advised the public of the potential for electrical power disruptions in Nouakchott and Nouadhibou between the hours of 07:00-13:00 June 24 as technicians perform work on a new high-voltage line being connected to the grid.

Electricity disruptions could extend beyond the estimated work period. Transport disruptions are possible in some locations due to malfunctioning traffic signals. Localized business disruptions are also possible in impacted areas.
