US: LGBTQ pride marches and gatherings planned in several cities nationwide June 24-25

Members of the LGBTQ community plan to participate in marches and other gatherings in multiple cities across the US June 24-25 as part of their annual Pride Month observance. Marches typically follow major thoroughfares, often passing through public squares and near government buildings. Organizers have confirmed the following events:

  • Chicago: March from the intersection of Montrose and Broadway to the intersection of Diversey and Sheridan in Lincoln Park starting at 12:00 June 25

  • Denver: March from Cheesman Park to Civic Center along Colfax Avenue starting at 09:30 June 25

  • Houston: March from the intersection of Bagby and Lamar streets to the intersection of Milam and Pease streets starting at 19:00 June 24

  • Minneapolis: March from 3rd Street to Loring Park along Hennepin Avenue starting 11:00 June 25

  • New York: March from the intersection of 25th Street and 5th Avenue to 16th Street and 7th Avenue and in the Chelsea neighborhood starting at 11:00 June 25

  • San Antonio: March from the intersection of Dewey Place and Main Street to Crockett Park starting 11:00 June 24

  • San Francisco: March along Market Street from the intersection with Beale Street to Eighth Street starting at 10:30 June 25

  • Seattle: March along 4th Avenue from Park Street to Denny Way starting at 11:00 June 25

Previous similar events have drawn very large numbers of participants, prompting localized transport and business disruptions. While the marches will likely remain largely peaceful, minor isolated skirmishes cannot be ruled out if counterdemonstrators attempt to assemble nearby. Police will likely deploy to monitor and facilitate the events.

Exercise caution around event venues as a precaution. Allow additional travel time to reach destinations near announced march locations; seek alternative routes if necessary. Heed all security and traffic advisories.
