Train collision disrupting light rail services in central Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, July 20. Allow additional travel time.

Informational

Event

A collision between two light rail vehicles at Sydney's Central Railway Station the evening of July 20 is disrupting train services. The incident did not cause casualties. However, light rail services along L1 Dulwich Hill Line between Central and Convention stations in central Sydney are suspended. Lingering delays are possible in the coming hours once trains resume.

Officials are providing alternative bus services, though availability is limited. Increased demand for alternative transport - especially bus services - is likely as a FIFA Women's World Cup match is scheduled to happen in Sydney's Accor Stadium from 20:00. Traffic congestion is possible, especially along routes leading to the Accor Stadium, due to increased usage of personal or private hire vehicles including taxis and ride-hailing services. Lingering localized traffic disruptions may also occur to and from the Central Railway Station.

Advice

Confirm the status of Sydney Trains lines before embarking on travel. Consider using alternative transport for time-sensitive trips. Allow additional time to reach destinations.
