Further protests over the poor state of roads are possible in the Shama District, Western Region, through early July. Residents gathered on July 3 in several localities, including Shama and Abuesi, over the issue. Police fired tear gas to disperse at least one gathering. There have been no casualties reported.

An increased security presence and localized ground travel delays are likely in the event of further protests. Clashes with security forces cannot be ruled out.
