China: Officials imposing maritime exclusion area in East China Sea from 12:00 Aug. 12 to 16:00 Aug. 14

The Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) has imposed a maritime exclusion area in the East China Sea, close to Zhoushan, a coastal city of Zhejian Province, 12:00 Aug. 12-16:00 Aug. 14. Military exercises will take place in the zone during that period. Chinese authorities announced the military exercises amid Taiwan's Vice President's planned visit to Paraguay, with a stopover in the US, Aug. 12. MSA will prohibit civilian vessels from entering the area throughout the exclusion zone's duration.

The exclusion zone may prompt minor regional maritime shipping delays.

Zhoushan is approximately 50 km ( 31 miles) east of Ningbo.
