Disruptions following a landslide are ongoing in Oni Municipality, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Region, as of Aug. 4. The landslide occurred in the area of Shovi Aug. 3 and response operations are ongoing. Authorities have reported at least six fatalities as of early Aug. 4; around 140 people have been evacuated and 35 others are still missing. Several buildings in Shovi have been destroyed by the landslide and bridges on the Kutaisi-Alpana-Mamisoni have been swept away. Around 400 personnel are on site responding to the incident. Further isolated showers and storms are expected in the region through at least Aug. 6. Additional downpours could trigger further land movements in the area and hamper ongoing response operations.

Lingering disruptions are expected in the area over the coming days as response and recovery operations continue. Localized business disruptions will likely occur in the affected area; some businesses might not operate at full capacity because of damage to facilities, possible evacuations, and some employees' inability to reach work sites. Overland transport disruptions are likely due to the damage to the road network caused by the landslide. Disruptions to electricity and telecommunications services are possible where significant flooding or landslides impact utility networks.
