Striking retail workers are protesting in Bochum, Aug. 22; The Ver.di labor union organized the gathering to protest inflation and call for better salaries for retail workers. Organizers state that around 3,500 protesters gathered at Bergbaumuseum Street and are marching through the city center; the protest will conclude on Berbaumuseum Street at 15:00.

Police are deployed to monitor the gathering. Localized transport disruptions are likely to last at least through the duration of the demonstration. Violence is not anticipated.
