Increased security and related disruptions are certain to occur in parts of Bengaluru Aug. 26 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to the city. Modi will arrive in Bengaluru via Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Airport during the early morning of Aug. 26 and travel by road to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) facility in the Peenya area. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could hold a public gathering, which Modi is likely to attend. The vehicular procession will reportedly be held from Jalahalli Circle to ISRO headquarters. The event could draw thousands of participants.

Around 2,000 security personnel will be deployed as a precaution. The Bengaluru Traffic Police has advised motorists to avoid several roads, including Old Airport and Raj Bhavan roads, 04:30-09:30 that will facilitate the prime minister's motorcade. Localized transport disruptions are certain to occur through at least the morning of Aug. 26.

Modi will visit Bengaluru to commemorate the ISRO's successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, a domestically produced lander, on the Moon's south pole region on Aug. 23 - marking it the first such historical landing in that region. During the leader's visit, public celebrations could occur across different parts of the city on Aug. 26, likely prompting further localized transport disruptions.
