Rail disruptions to occur along Kandy-Matale railway line between Kandy and Katugastota, Sri Lanka, 00:01 Aug. 18-16:00 Aug. 21.

Rail operator Sri Lanka Railways will perform maintenance at a few stations along the Kandy-Matale railway line between Kandy and Katugastota in Central Province 00:01 Aug. 18-16:00 Aug. 21. Authorities will cancel several services along the impacted line. Areas outside the immediate vicinity of Kandy and the nearby suburban area of Katugastota may experience delays and/or potential cancellations up to Matale. Delays in maintenance works remain possible.
Increased demand for alternative transportation is likely. Traffic congestion is possible as some travelers opt to use personal vehicles, taxis, and ride-hailing services. Lingering disruptions are possible as operators reposition rolling stock.
