US: Heightened security likely around Fulton County Jail in Atlanta, Georgia, through Aug. 25

Authorities are likely to increase security around Fulton County Jail, located along Rice Street, in Atlanta, Georgia, through at least Aug. 25, due to the surrender of former President Donald Trump, and other defendants in a case related to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 Presidential Election in the state.

Trump has said he will appear at the jail on Aug. 24 to be booked. Officials have not specified security measures in the area but have said there will be a hard lockdown in the area for his appearance. The 18 other defendants have until Aug. 25 to surrender themselves.
