Informational

Event

The Public Water Company (EPAL) has announced it was implementing daily water cuts from 08:00-18:00 through Sept. 6. This is reportedly to carry out scheduled maintenance on water treatment facilities. The cuts should affect the following areas:

  • Boavista

  • Ilha de Luanda

  • Coqueiros

  • Marginal

  • Lower Ingombotas

  • Sambizanga

  • Rangel

  • Combatentes

  • Vila Alice

  • Miramar

  • Kinaxixi

  • Maculusso

Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. The water outages could extend beyond the estimated restoration time.

Advice

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations if operating in the impacted areas. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Water pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
