Warning

Event

Authorities will dispose of an unexploded 500 kg (1,120 lbs) World War II-era bomb at the Dusseldorf Airport (DUS) on the afternoon of Sept. 21. The device was discovered during construction work in the airport area. Authorities have ordered a 500 meter (547 yards) evacuation radius; the directive impacts the nearby B8 federal highway and U79 railway line. It remains unclear when the operation will be completed, and restrictions will be lifted.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely. Flight disruptions are possible through Sept. 21.
