Further protests are possible and heightened security is likely near the Embassy of Eritrea in Tel Aviv through early September following clashes on Sept. 2. The violence occurred during a protest by Eritrean asylum seekers against the Eritrean government. Israeli security forces intervened to disperse the gathering. The ensuing clashes left over 30 people injured, including protesters and security forces. Damage to property was also reported.

Protesters could gather to oppose the Eritrean government or in response to the clashes with the security forces. Gatherings could also occur elsewhere in Tel Aviv. Any further demonstrations are likely to be met with a strong security force presence. Associated disruptions may occur.
