Paraguay: Firefighters responding to fire at garment factory in Asuncion early Sept. 19

Firefighters are responding to a blaze at the Patrol Jeans clothing factory on Pastora Cespedes Avenue in the San Lorenzo area of Asuncion as of early Sept. 19. The fire started at approximately 21:35 Sept. 18. The cause of the incident is currently unclear. There are no reports of casualties.

Heightened security and disruptions to transport and business are likely over the coming hours as firefighting operations continue. The fire and accompanying smoke will likely worsen air quality in the area.
