Informational

Activists from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) have called for a protest outside the Government Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, from 11:00 Oct. 30. Organizers intend to denounce the incumbent Left Democratic Front's (LDF) policies and demand the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Organizers claim 100,000 supporters will join the event; actual attendance will likely be around a few thousand people. Participants could march to the rally venue from nearby intersections or public squares.

Police will likely monitor the protest and may try to disperse the gathering if it is especially disruptive. Protesters may clash with security personnel and/or rival party members. The demonstration and any related marches may prompt localized transport disruptions.

Avoid the protest due to possible clashes. If violence breaks out, leave the area immediately for a secure, nongovernmental building. Allow additional travel time in the affected area. Heed all security and traffic advisories.
