UK: Pro-Palestinian activists to demonstrate in several cities nationwide Oct. 14

Pro-Palestinian activists plan to rally in cities across Scotland on Oct. 14. Demonstrators will assemble at four locations at 14:00. The purpose of the gatherings is to condemn the government of Israel and express solidarity with the Palestinian people. It remains unclear how many participants the event may draw. Organizers have announced demonstrations in the following locations:

• Aberdeen: St. Nicholas Square

• Dundee: City Square

• Edinburgh: Princes Street (at the Foot of the Mound)

• Glasgow: Buchanan Steps

Authorities will almost certainly deploy increased security in the vicinity of all demonstrations. Security-related transport disruptions are possible. Although the gatherings will probably remain largely peaceful, low-level clashes cannot be ruled out if activists from rival groups attempt to stage counter-protests nearby.
