Informational

Activists and civil society groups plan to demonstrate in central Paris on Dec. 3. Various groups led by UCIJ (United against disposable immigration) will gather in the Montparnasse area at 14:00; the exact location remains unclear. Protesters will denounce proposed government legislation on immigration, and will also mark the fortieth anniversary of a landmark march from Marseille to Paris, against racism and for equal rights. It is likely that several thousand protesters will participate.

Authorities are highly likely to deploy additional police and heighten security measures in the vicinity of the protest. Road closures are likely to cause traffic disruptions. The protest is likely to remain peaceful.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the impacted area. Heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
