Kenya: Assailants attack Bendera village, Samburu County, Nov. 10
As of Nov. 12, additional security deployment to remain in Bendera village, Samburu County, Kenya, following armed attack Nov. 10.
According to reports released late Nov. 11, armed assailants attacked Bendera village in Samburu County, Nov. 10. Approximately 30 bandits opened fire on residents, killing seven, including one police officer. The attack occurred several days after authorities removed an armed security detachment from the area; another deployment of personnel has occurred in the wake of the incident. Bendera is located immediately east of the town of Baragoi.
Security operations could lead to localized travel disruptions. Further attacks or reprisal attacks cannot be discounted.
Exercise caution in the impact area. Reconfirm the status of road routes before departure. Adhere to all instructions issued by the local authorities.
