Russia: Flight suspensions at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports following drone strike targeting Moscow as of early Nov. 26

Flights suspended at Vnukovo and Domodedovo airports following drone strike targeting Moscow, Russia, early Nov. 26. Reconfirm flights.

Warning

Authorities have reportedly suspended all flights at Vnukovo (VKO) and Domodedovo (DME) airports in Moscow as of early Nov. 26 after drone strikes targeted the capital and surrounding areas. Local reports indicate around 20 drone interceptions over Moscow and Bryansk, Kaluga, and Tula regions. One drone impacted a residential building in Tula, resulting in one minor injury. There were no immediate reports of other damage or casualties.

Flight delays and cancellations are likely at VKO and DME in the coming hours. During previous drone strikes, authorities diverted flights from Moscow's airspace to alternative airports in Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kazan. Lingering disruptions are possible after regular flights resume as airlines work to clear backlogs. Additional drone strikes may prompt further airspace closures of varying duration, which could also affect Sheremetyevo (SVO) and Zhukovsky (ZIA) airports. Heightened security and localized ground transport and business disruptions will probably continue as security forces respond to any threats or incidents.

Reconfirm flights at VKO and DME. Follow local travel and security advice. Prepare for possible drone strikes: seek shelter if there are reports of potential attacks in the area. Stay away from windows and exterior walls.
