UK: Activists to conduct protest march in London Nov. 11
Pro-Palestine activists to hold protest march from Park Lane to the US Embassy in London, UK, from 12:00 Nov. 9. Heightened security likely.
Pro-Palestine activists affiliated with Palestine Solidarity Campaign UK (PSC) plan to hold a protest march in central London from 12:00 Nov. 11. Demonstrators intend to gather near Hyde Park Corner before marching from the east side of Park Lane to the US embassy (33 Nine Elms Lane). It is unclear how many participants may attend; however, PSC demonstrations in recent weeks have drawn over 100,000 participants.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Disruptions at metro stations near the start point, particularly Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Hyde Park Corner, and Marble Arch stations, and near the endpoint, particularly Battersea Power, Nine Elms, and Vauxhall stations, are likely. Previous PSC demonstrations have remained largely peaceful; however, confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or politically opposed bystanders cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central London. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
