UK: Unionized workers to conduct 24-hour strike in Northern Ireland Dec. 1

Unionized workers employed by TransLink, the primary public transport provider in Northern Ireland, plan to hold a 24-hour strike from 00:01 Dec. 1. The purpose of the action is to denounce a proposed pay freeze on employees. Unless averted, the labor action will severely disrupt Ulsterbus, Citybus, and Glider bus services and may disrupt rail services through Northern Ireland.

Bus disruptions will likely continue into the early hours of Dec. 2. Rail disruptions throughout Northern Ireland are likely. Picket protests may form near rail and bus transit hubs.
