Pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli activists to rally in several cities across US and Canada through mid November. Disruptions likely.

Warning

Further rallies by pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli activists are likely across the US and Canada through at least mid-November in response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict. Organizers have announced the following specific gatherings in support of the Palestinian people through Nov. 13:

US

  • New York: City Hall, 15:00 Nov. 7; Union Square, 18:00 Nov. 7; The US Mission to the United Nations, 16:00 Nov. 8

  • Seattle: Boeing Military Delivery Center, 15:00 Nov. 8

  • Las Vegas: Flora Duncan Humanities Building, University of Nevada Las Vegas, 09:30 Nov. 9

  • Chicago: 159 East Monroe, 16:00 Nov. 10

  • Nashville: Centennial Park, 13:00, Nov. 11

  • Austin: Texas State Capitol, 13:00 Nov. 12

Canada

  • Vancouver: Vancouver Art Gallery, 17:30 Nov. 9

Most demonstrations will probably draw thousands of attendees, with participation in the tens of thousands likely at the New York protests. Further demonstrations are likely in other cities. Such events may occur near Israeli or Palestinian diplomatic offices, synagogues, mosques, identifiably Jewish or Palestinian business premises, public squares, universities, and major government buildings. Counterprotests could occur in some locations.

A heightened security presence is likely near protest sites. Associated localized transport and business disruptions are probable. Clashes between rival demonstrators or police and protesters are possible; vandalism may also occur.

Additionally, some schools and religious centers may close or limit their hours of operation; extra deployments of police or private security are possible near such locations.

Exercise caution near any protests that materialize. Heed instructions from authorities. Plan for localized road travel delays. Immediately depart the area at the first sign of any security disturbance.
