US: Severe weather prompts flight disruptions at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 21

FAA issues ground delay notice at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., US, Nov. 21; flight disruptions ongoing.

Warning

Low ceilings have prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue a ground delay program at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina. Current ground delay advisories are in effect until at least 22:59 Nov. 21, with delays averaging 99 minutes. The weather has already delayed more than 200 outbound flights at the airport. Authorities could extend or rescind the air traffic control measures at short notice.

Lingering disruptions are likely through at CLT after regular flight schedules resume as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs and reposition aircraft.

Confirm flights if booked via CLT. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive early at the airport to allow additional time for processing.
