Officials closed all four international border crossings connecting Niagara Falls, New York, and Niagara Falls, Ontario, as of the afternoon of Nov. 22 after a vehicle incident on the Rainbow Bridge. The closure impacts the Peace Bridge, Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, Whirlpool Bridge, and Rainbow Bridge. Emergency services are at the scene. The cause of the incident is unclear.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are almost certain over the coming hours as officials investigate the incident. Lingering disruptions are possible even after the border reopens as authorities work to clear backlogs. Rail disruptions on the Whirpool Bridge cannot be ruled out.
