Paraguay: Healthcare workers to protest in Asuncion Dec. 15 to demand payment of salaries owed in arrears

Healthcare workers affiliated with the National Physicians' Union (Sindicato Nacional de Medicos) plan to hold a protest in downtown Asuncion starting at 08:00 Dec. 14. The purpose of the gathering is to demand salary payments owed to public health workers in arrears for the month of November. Participants gather outside the Ministry of Health at the intersection of Pettirossi and Brasil streets.

It remains unclear how many participants the demonstration may draw. However, localized traffic disruptions and an associated increased security presence are likely.
