Opposition activists plan to protest at the Nis City Assembly (24 Nikola Pasic Street) in Nis from 18:00 Dec. 22. The purpose of the demonstration is to denounce alleged irregularities in Dec. 17 elections, and comes after four days of related protests in Belgrade. It is unclear how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Low-level confrontations between protesters and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the Nis City Assembly. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
