Flight operations at Geneva Airport, Switzerland, likely to remain suspended through at least 21:00 Dec. 13 following minor accident.
Flight operations at Geneva Airport (GVA) will likely remain suspended through at least 21:00 Dec. 13 following a minor aviation accident. A small private aircraft reportedly was involved in a runway excursion on landing at the facility at about 18:30, prompting airport officials to close the runway. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities have as yet given no official estimate as to when the airport will resume operations; however, flight disruptions will probably persist for several hours after the runway reopens.
Contact air travel providers to reconfirm schedules for specific flights if booked to fly via GVA into at least the early hours of Dec. 14. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
