Small aircraft crashes in Badakhshan Province, Afghanistan, Jan. 21.

Emergency services were deployed to a remote mountainous location in Badakhshan Province, Jan. 21, following an aircraft crash in the vicinity of the Zebak District. The impacted aircraft has been identified as a small charter aircraft. Russian officials have indicated that a privately owned Dassault Falcon 10 went missing in the area. It was carrying four passengers and two crew. India's Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a statement indicating that the aircraft is a Moroccan-registered small aircraft. Given the site of the incident, updated information is likely to be delayed for several hours at least as emergency services travel to the site. There have been no confirmed casualties, although these are likely.
