Activists are clashing with law enforcement officers in central Rennes as of the evening of Jan. 25. Confrontations broke out after a protest denouncing planned immigration reform legislation. Demonstrators have erected barricades and damaged properties in the area. Affected zones include Place du Parlement de Bretagne, Rue de Toulouse, and Rue Victor Hugo.

Authorities will almost certainly maintain a heavy police presence in affected parts of the city into at least the morning hours of Jan. 26.

Exercise extreme caution if operating in Rennes into at least the morning of Jan. 26. If clashes break out nearby, leave the area immediately and seek shelter in a secure non-governmental building. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers.
