France: French authorities decrease threat level nationwide since Jan. 15

French government decreases threat level to "reinforced security-attack risk" since Jan. 15

French authorities decreased the threat level of the Vigipirate Plan, France's national security alert system. Since Jan. 15, the French government discreetly decreased the threat level to Vigipirate Plan level 2 "reinforced security-attack risk". Since October 2023, French authorities issued the Vigipirate Plan level 3 ("Attack emergency level") due to the terrorist-related Arras school stabbing, which occurred on Oct. 13, 2023.

Authorities will continue to maintain permanent security measures in transport hubs, public places, and religious spaces nationwide.
