Ride-hailing drivers protesting at Jalan Pasir Kaliki, Bandung, Indonesia, as of the afternoon of Jan. 22. Increased security likely.

Informational

The Federation of Indonesian Transport Workers' Unions (FSPTN) is leading ride-hailing drivers from Grab in a demonstration in front of the Grab management office on Jalan Pasirkaliki, Bandung, as of the afternoon of Jan. 22. The purpose of the action is to press several demands, in particular the dismissal of employees who criticised FSPTN leaders. Dozens of activists have joined the protest. The duration of the gathering is unclear.

Heightened security is likely around the protest venue. Localized transport disruptions are possible if the activists occupy or march along nearby roads. Scuffles could occur if police forcibly disperse the demonstration or activists attempt to breach security cordons.

Avoid the protest as a precaution and to minimize travel delays. Allow additional time for journeys in the affected area. Heed all official directives. Leave an area at the first sign of unrest.
