Several unions representing workers at Electricite de France (EDF), including the Martinique Energy Union Chamber (Chambre Syndicale de l'Energie de la Martinique), have called for a strike on Jan. 30 to demand a pay increase. Disruptions to power supplies are not being reported, but services will be limited to emergency assistance on Jan. 30. Participants may stage demonstrations at EDF sites.
