UK: Activists to conduct protest march in London Jan. 13

Pro-Palestine activists to march from Bank Junction to Parliament Square, London, UK, from 12:00 Jan. 13. Heightened security likely.

Warning

Pro-Palestine activists affiliated with Palestine Solidarity Campaign UK (PSC) plan to hold a protest march in central London starting at 12:00 on Jan. 13. Demonstrators intend to gather at Bank Junction before marching to Parliament Square. It is unclear how many participants may attend; however, PSC demonstrations have drawn over 100,000 participants on several occasions since Oct. 7.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely along the march route. Disruptions at metro stations near the start point, particularly Bank Station, Mansion House, Cannon Street, Monument, Liverpool Street, and Moorgate stations, and near the endpoint, particularly Westminster and St. James' Park stations, are likely. Previous PSC demonstrations have remained largely peaceful; however, confrontations between demonstrators and law enforcement officers or politically opposed bystanders cannot be ruled out.

Avoid the affected area as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling in central London. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
