Heightened security and disruptions are likely over the coming hours as police continue to investigate a suspected corrosive substance attack near Lessar Avenue, in the Clapham area of south London, late Jan. 31. Officials initially reported that three people were injured, including two children, after a corrosive substance was thrown at a vehicle; however, authorities now state six other individuals, including three officers were injured when attempting to help the initial victims. The cause of the reported attack is unclear.

A significant police presence around Clapham is likely until the suspect is detained. Authorities may establish road closures and security cordons to facilitate the suspect's apprehension.
