UK: Unionized London Tube staff suspend strike as of late Jan. 7 /update 1
Unionized Tube employees suspend strike in London, UK, late Jan. 7 Lingering disruptions possible.
London Underground (Tube) workers affiliated with the RMT union have suspended their ongoing strike in London as of late Jan. 7. The decision follows an agreement between union leaders and Transport for London (TfL) officials to conduct further negotiations over higher pay. The work stoppage was initially slated to take place Jan. 5-11. Organizers could relaunch the labor action at short notice if negotiations break down or they perceive TfL to be reneging on its promises.
Lingering disruptions are possible as transport workers return to work and service schedules normalize.
