US: Weather-related flight disruptions occurring at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., Jan. 24

FAA issues ground delay notice at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, N.C., US, Jan. 24; flight disruptions ongoing.

Warning

Low cloud ceilings have prompted the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to issue a ground delay program at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in North Carolina on Jan. 24. Current ground delay advisories are in effect until at least 22:59, with delays averaging 205 minutes for departures to CLT. Authorities could extend or rescind the air traffic control measures at short notice.

Lingering disruptions are likely through at CLT after regular flight schedules resume as airlines work to clear passenger backlogs and reposition aircraft.

Reconfirm flights if booked to fly via CLT through at least lat Jan. 24. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive early at the airport to allow additional time for processing.
