Canada-based Lynx Air to cease flight operations effective Feb. 26. Reconfirm flight reservations; consider alternative travel arrangements.

Warning

Calgary-based Lynx Air (Y9) has announced that it will cease flight operations effective 00:01 MST Feb. 26, citing "compounding financial pressures" associated with inflation and fuel costs, among other issues. The carrier has said that it will continue to operate a majority of its flights through the weekend of Feb. 24-25, and has advised travelers to check their flight status on its website. Lynx Air has also asserted that individuals who are scheduled to travel on the airline through Feb. 25 will be notified via email if their flight is canceled. Additionally, Lynx Air is advising passengers to contact their credit card companies for a refund if booked on a Lynx Air flight previously scheduled to operate on or after Feb. 26.

In an effort to assist impacted travelers, the Canada-based WestJet (WS) airline has announced discounted and capped fares on certain routes previously served by Lynx Air. WestJet has specified that all such bookings should be made through its website.

Contact Lynx Air to confirm your flight status if scheduled to travel on the airline through Feb. 25. Consider booking alternative travel arrangements if previously scheduled to travel via Lynx Air on or after Feb. 26. Confirm flight reservations before leaving for the airport; do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed.
