France: Taxi drivers to strike and stage vehicular protests nationwide Feb. 19

Unionized taxi drivers strike nationwide, Feb. 19, to denounce social security provisions. The availability of private hire vehicles will likely vary by region. Protests including go-slow convoys are possible across France. Demonstrations by private hire drivers are planned in Marseille, at the airport and the main rail station, and in Strasbourg. Further protests are likely in Aix-en-Provence et between Laon and Soisson.

Private hire availability and road travel disruptions are likely throughout France for much of the day on Feb. 19. Some outbound rail and air transport delays are also possible if protesting taxi drivers block access to airport rail stations for an extended period of time.
