France: Unionized teachers plan to protest in Strasbourg Feb. 20
Unionized teachers to protest at Rector Of The Academy of Strasbourg, France from 14:00 Feb. 20. Heightened security likely.
Unionized teachers affiliated with the Workers' Force (Force Ouvriere, FO) and the Democratic Unitary Solidarity (Solidaires Unitaires Democratiques, SUD) unions plan to protest at the Rector Of The Academy of Strasbourg located at 6 Rue de la Toussaint from 14:00 Feb. 20 to denounce state education reforms. Members of participating unions will also hold an associated strike across Strasbourg. It is unclear how many participants may attend.
Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the demonstration site. Additional picket demonstrations are possible at educational institutions. Low-level confrontations between protesters and law enforcement officers cannot be ruled out.
Avoid all protests as a standard precaution. Allow additional time if traveling near the Rector Of The Academy of Strasbourg from early afternoon onward. Strictly heed all instructions from law enforcement officers. Immediately depart the area at the first sign that any security disturbance may occur.
