Activists to march from First Republic Square to Parliament in Tbilisi, Georgia, Feb. 24; heightened security, traffic disruptions likely.
Activists are planning to march from First Republic Square to the Parliament building in Tbilisi via Shota Rustaveli Avenue from 18:00 Feb. 24. The purpose of the demonstration, dubbed "Believe in Ukraine," is to express solidarity with Ukraine amid the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of the country. Demonstration organizers did not immediately provide an estimate as to how many people would partake in the march; however, thousands of people may participate.
Heightened security and traffic disruptions are likely along the march route amid the demonstration. Authorities may close roads in the affected area on short notice to divert traffic and facilitate the march. Clashes between demonstrators and police, or between groups of rival activists, cannot be ruled out.
Avoid the demonstration as a precaution. Consider taking alternative routes to circumvent the march and any disruptions. Adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities.
