Informational

Power has been fully restored in Madang Town as of Feb. 23. Unplanned electricity disruptions and associated water disruptions were reported in Madang Town since Feb. 16 after heavy flooding damaged a transmission line supplying electricity from the Ramu power grid.

According to local media sources, intermittent localized power disruptions persist following the restoration. Power disruptions could adversely affect security protocols, including alarm systems and electronic fences.

Charge mobile and essential electrical devices when possible and ensure backup batteries are available. Exercise caution when driving in areas where load shedding is occurring. Park vehicles in secure areas. Confirm business appointments. Verify that security systems are working. Ensure that generators are functional and refuel devices when necessary.
