Tunisia: Scheduled water outages to occur in several cities in Gabes Governorate Feb. 13-14
Planned water cuts to affect several cities in Gabes Governorate, Tunisia, 01:00 Feb. 13-23:00 Feb. 14; business disruptions likely.
The National Water Distribution and Exploitation Company (SONEDE) announced the scheduled suspension of drinking water distribution in El Hamma, Metouia, Oudhref, Ghannouch, and Gabes, in the Gabes Governorate from 01:00 Feb. 13. Authorities have announced water supply would slowly resume starting 23:00 Feb. 14. The disruption is due to the maintenance work of a water line.
Business disruptions are possible, especially for companies that rely on large quantities of municipal water. Essential services, including hospitals and health facilities, could experience disruptions due to water cuts.
Minimize nonessential use of water until supplies normalize. Confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Prepare for business disruptions in the affected areas of Gabes Governorate through early Feb 15. Pressure and water quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water.
