UK: Farmers plan to protest in Cardiff from 12:30 Feb. 28

Welsh farmers will stage a demonstration on Roald Dahl Plass, in front of the Welsh Parliament building in Cardiff, from 12:30 on Feb. 28; participants are demanding a review of the Welsh government's farming policy. The ending time of the protest is yet to be confirmed; however, participants will likely remain at the protest site until the evening hours. Organizers stated they expect 10,000-15,000 participants at the demonstration. Traffic disruptions will likely occur in the area as protesters reach the protest site, bringing tractors and farming equipment.

Authorities will deploy additional personnel to monitor the demonstration; localized road travel disruptions are certain near the protest site in the hours before and after the end of the gathering. Violence is unlikely; however, low-level confrontations between law enforcement officers and demonstrators are possible.
