Authorities are continuing their response to the discovery of a suspected WWII-era bomb in a residential neighborhood of Plymouth as of the early evening of Feb. 20. The device was found at a property on St. Michael Avenue in the city's Keyham area earlier in the day. Multiple police units and a military ordnance disposal team are at the scene; authorities have declared a major incident. Responders have cordoned off a 200-meter (219-yard) radius around the bomb location and evacuated several hundred local residents from the area. It remains unclear when any disposal operation may be completed.

Increased security and localized traffic disruptions are likely in the area over the coming hours.
