Person hit by train between Three Bridges and Horsham, England, UK, Feb. 23, prompting major train disruptions; residual disruptions likely.
Residual rail service disruptions are likely between the Three Bridges and Horsham stations in England over the coming hours after a train hit a person in the vicinity of Crawley Station Feb. 23. Major train disruptions impacted Southern and Thameslink services following the incident, including between London Victoria Station and Bognor Regis, Portsmouth and Southsea, and Southampton Central stations on the Southern network, and between Peterborough and Horsham stations on the Thameslink network.
Although the line has since reopened and trains now may operate between Three Bridges and Horsham, National Rail has cautioned that "only a very limited service will run" between the stations, and trains slated to run in the area will still experience cancellations, delays, and revisions to their schedules. Authorities have asserted that significant train disruptions are likely in the area through late Feb. 23. Train tickets will be accepted on other public transport routes; for more information, click here.
Confirm train reservations if scheduled to travel via Southern or Thameslink through early Feb. 24. Consider booking alternative arrangements for time-sensitive travel.
