An explosion and related fire at a restaurant in Yanjiao Town, Hebei Province, has killed at least two people and wounded 26 individuals as of the afternoon of March 13. Preliminary reports indicate the incident occurred near the intersection of Yingbin Road and Xueyuan Avenue at around 07:55, damaging surrounding vehicles and buildings and causing heavy smoke. There have been no immediate reports of the blaze spreading to other compounds.

Authorities will likely continue implementing temporary traffic restrictions in the impact area and maintain an increased security presence over the coming hours. Associated localized transport disruptions are likely. Lingering disruptions are possible as authorities carry out clearing and recovery operations.

The incident site is approximately 37 km (22 miles) east of Beijing.

Avoid the area until the situation stabilizes and authorities give the all-clear. Follow all security personnel instructions, including potential evacuation orders.
